PMA's new Ingram program

PMA sent out this announcement today. It sounds like an interesting opportunity for a micro publisher that doesn't have a distributor.

Small Press Center

Has anyone else joined the Small Press Center? I just joined and it seems like a good value. They have a variety of benefits which are different than those offered by other organizations. This isn't just more of the same.

The Small Press Center is located in Manhattan, and a lot of the benefits center around the use of the facilities:

  • They will display your books, along with order forms, in their library which is open to the public

Billing for books

Need some advice on how to handle a matter: I had a book order from a company that I have never dealt with before(that supplies to public libraries). I met with the reps while at BEA and filled out my paperwork and gave them a book (for the order). The rep that took the book said she could take the book (she understood it was for the order) but I guess with all that went on at BEA, she lost the book and now the company won't pay for the order because they consider it unfilled. Should I let it go and hope to get future orders from the company, or should I push for payment? Any advice on how to handle this would be appreciated.
