Mission Statement

MBPA is a regional affiliate of the Independent Book Publishers Association. We serve members in the MidAtlantic region of America, in the states of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland (DC), Virginia and West Virginia.

Ours is voluntary association of book publishers who have joined together for the purposes of becoming more professional, successful publishers in the rapidly changing book publishing industry. Our mission is to serve the professional and educational needs of our members, and to provide marketing information and promotional opportunities for those engaged in book publishing—especially small and independent houses—and related activities in the MidAtlantic region.

MBPA:

  • offers educational programs
  • facilitates the exchange of ideas and techniques
  • shares resources in developing cooperative marketing and other opportunities. 
Our association runs solely on the efforts of volunteers. We do not offer paid positions or employment opportunities.
