MBPA is still working on building the committees necessary to allowing us to function as a robust supporter of our members' needs as independent publishers. Where you see openings listed below, please consider volunteering for a term as committee chair or as a staff volunteer. Remember, our whole is only as strong as the sum of its active parts.

• Volunteers can serve on more than one committee simultaneously.
• All committee members work directly under the guidance of the committee chairs, who are responsible for recruiting volunteers to help complete assigned tasks.
  
• Chairs report directly to the president, who appoints these positions.
  
• Most committees will work with each other at some point, and some on a regular basis. Those particularly important in the operation of each are called out specifically in each listing.

Membership
Responsible for:

• New member outreach and recruitment

• Working closely with Member Benefit Development chair to implement member benefits

Member Benefit Development/Affiliate Relations
Responsible for:

• Working with MBPA board to create new member benefits
• Working with Membership Committee Chair to implement and improve member benefit programs
• Developing mutually beneficial relationships and smooth interaction with:
• Related publishing organizations
• External member service providers

as we develop MBPA-specific benefit  programs. Works closely with Board of Directors and most other committees.

Meetings & Programs
Responsible for our organization's internal member

Responsible for our organization's participation in external marketing events and exhibits

• Trade (Industry events aimed at booksellers, libraries and distributors/wholesalers)

Responsible for:

• Working closely with President & Committee Chairs to implement member communication on Website
• Regular content updates
• Forum maintenance and activity promotion
